Jun 6th, 2011 by Gemma | 0

We got a request for a peanut butter cup cake, it didn’t need to be huge, the shape and flavour were the important bits. We umm-ed and ahh-ed over trying to make a peanut butter flavoured cake but finally settled on a chocolate cake with a peanut butter flavoured icing. The cake had some mild [...]

Cupcake Cake

Mar 22nd, 2010 by Gemma | 0

It became revolutionary because of the short length of time it took to cook, their size meaning that the outside was not burnt before the inside was baked. In recent years the [...]

Stars In The Sky

Dec 4th, 2009 by Gemma | 0

For the local astronomical society we made a butter cake with English buttercream. Covered in fondant and airbrushed to resemble the night sky, with just the last hints of daylight on the horizon. The stars are pearl dragees and royal icing, for some variety in size, then we added some large stars on wires.
