Friday Round Up
As a follow up from last week, here’s the top ten cookbooks from the list. In a moment of shock and horror I don’t actually own any of them!
Chefs’ pencils… quite frankly if the chef in your life needs these they may want to consider a change of career..
The BBC had an interesting article this week on cooking with children. Yes it’s messy, but it’s fun, and I know I was the envy of my University house mates for being able to whip up a cake.
Ever wondered how Jelly Belly choose their flavours? The liquorice is my favourite, sadly there only ever seems to be one or two of them in a bag!
When did dressing for dinner change to mean putting your good jeans on. Gone are the days where going out to eat meant wearing your best outfit.
In the digital age you can order foods from across the globe. But sometimes, there’s something special about that bar of chocolate lovingly imported in a suitcase. Edible souvenirs are just as special as keepsakes.
Some food pairings are undisputed, everyone has heard of them. Spaghetti and meatballs, doughnuts and coffee, cheese and wine. Some clever artist has turned these parings into ampersands!
Most of you will have heard of the salmonella outbreak. Texas, so far, has avoided it, but keep an eye out.. Of course this isn’t a reason to stop eating eggs though!
This weekend if you’re free in Austin, Cupcake Smackdown is happening up at the Domain. We’ll be there, hope to see you there too.
