Friday Round Up
If you hadn’t noticed there’s a rather large sporting event going on right now. We’re not into sports at all here at CC, but found a beer version of the World Cup which seemed far more preferable. A beer has been picked to represent each country taking part, and paired up (for round one at least) to match the pairings picked for the football. Taste them all round by round and find your winner!
The latest gadget out there is coffee on a stick, pick your flavour and stir it into hot water.. Dare I say, I have to agree with some of the comments.. it does look a bit like a pregnancy test, just don’t pee on it or your coffee will taste funny.
Trying to find a quick way to make scrambled eggs (really, it barely takes that long anyway). Well, if you own an espresso machine there’s something new you can try. Using the steamer wand! Personally, it sounds like it would be a pain and a half to clean up, but I want someone to try it so I can see how well it works *grins*
Time had an interesting article this week on the Cult of the Celebrity Chef. We were told in class that Antoine Careme was essentially the first celebrity chef so it was nice to see him mentioned. Also nice was seeing Chefs who have become celebrities just for their cooking and their restaurants mentioned, no television programs involved.
Looking for something to do for Fathers day, or just something food related to while away the rest of June? Fete and Feast has a list of everything going on around town.
