Alice In Wonderland Baby Shower

May 25th, 2015 by Gemma | Comments Off on Alice In Wonderland Baby Shower

There’s nothing more fun than being our own clients! We usually use it as an excuse to test out new recipes and go a little overboard. Our baby shower cake was no exception. We had an Alice in Wonderland theme so finally decided on the Caterpillar atop his mushroom asking “whooo are youuu?” as the […]

We’re always thrilled when people return to us for more cake. That means we made them happy, and that makes up very happy indeed. That’s what we’re here for after all. This cake was a 9″ bottom tier and a 6″ top tier. The Blue on the top is modeled from rice crispy treats so […]

Pickled Beets

May 21st, 2014 by Michael | Comments Off on Pickled Beets

Pickled beets are delicious! Hey, don’t give me that look… I’m not talking about the canned variety that live out their lives in grocery store purgatory, red and flat flavored, tasting as much of the can as the beets. I’m talking about homemade pickled beets here, jarred alongside red onion and rosemary in tasty tarragon […]

Farmyard themed cupcakes needed for a 2nd birthday party. I wanted to keep them simple but obviously recognisable, there’d be nothing more embarrassing than a two year old not being able to tell that that thing right there is a cow! I saw a picture a few weeks previously where someone had done something similar, using a […]

Japanese Tree

May 13th, 2013 by Gemma | Comments Off on Japanese Tree

We were given several prints of trees, all in a Japanese style, to use as guidelines for this cake. The picture that really inspired us was in shades of red like a blossom tree, we ended up sponge painting onto the cake to really convey the feel of the image.

Texas Rangers

May 12th, 2013 by Gemma | Comments Off on Texas Rangers

I’m not a sport person, when someone asked for a cake with the Texas Rangers logo on top I had to look them up to even see which sport they played, let alone what the logo looked like. This is a red velvet cake with a cream cheese icing. We made the logo by cutting […]

May 10th, 2013 by Gemma | Comments Off on The Sleep Book

A baby shower cake with the Chippendale Mupp on top. Who is he you ask? He’s a character from The Sleep Book by Dr Seuss. It’s only been the last few years that I’ve been introduced to Dr Seuss, I don’t remember ever reading him as a child (help me out here Mum? Did we […]
